Work in Progress

Previous page

On the work in progress pages you can follow the evolution from a simple drawing or painting to a completed and highly detailed artwork. You are able to follow how the work is doing and you can ask questions and eventually make suggestions about the portrait as I'm painting it.

I mainly work from one photograph, but looking at others at the same time, to see right colours and keep in mind about special wishes the client may have. As I'm specializing in highly detailed pet portraits and portraits of people with high demands on personality and characteristics of the animal or person, these work in progress pages are of great value to me and to you as a client. My work in progress pages are the most popular location on my web site and updated frequently.

When my clients make the payment for the portraits commissioned, they want to see their photo or mock-up along with the description of the pet or family member, on these pages as soon as possible. After that, they come to check the work in progress many times a day to see if I updated the progress. Good thing they do that, because any extra help I get can only make the portrait better. I always like to have both the client and the photograph as a guide throughout the process of my artwork.

I have been uploading my work in progress for some years now and all clients are very delighted with this benefit. It gives them a peace of mind, knowing their investment is safe.

I have three work in progress pages because I'm usually working on more then one portrait at the same time. Oil paintings have to dry for a day before I can add more detail; meanwhile I can work on other portraits or doing other kinds of work. After the portraits are finished, these pages will be updated with new commissions. Finished work will be uploaded to my main galleries or archives and blog.

Thank you for visiting my work in progress pages, welcome back any time.
